I have a 99 coupe with a A4 that has 75,000 miles on it my question is has anyone else ever felt this with theirs? when you put the car in Drive no O/d and go through the gears 1800 to 2000 RPM not WOT feel a slight shift real slight once in third gear it almost feels like it was shifting into overdrive, speed at this point is only about 55 miles in hour car is all stock and shifts fine during WOT. sounds weird but if I was to count the shifts including O/D it seems like the car has 6speed automatic, I know sounds crazy but?
Thanks for the reply guy's so it's normal to feel it even in drive not overdrive right?
Phil I am an hour away from Tampa you say you can fix it are you talking a tune or something else??
The only "fix" would be to tune out the 3rd gear TC lockup.
That can be done, but, as stated above, what you've got is normal and its the way GM setup the TC to work
let me know when you have a free weekend to stop by, and Id be happy to change a couple of your transmission settings. Im about 3 mile from MacDill AFB.

yep, happens in my 99 vert (85k)all of the time. i bought it used and it has a modified program because of cam and i always thought it had something to do with the program. seems to be an extra surge/shift sometimes at low throttle. no real issue with it, just different!
