My 2000 got hot about 222 degrees and I blew a hole in the surge tank about the size of a quarter on the engine side. After it coooled down I started it up and drove it on a trailer. Got home started it and drove it off the trailer and then home 1 block. I installed a new surge tank, after about a week of setting and now it won't fire. It was running great then I took it to a dealer and had the radiator flushed. I was running the Dex Cool and when they changed it they put in the green. All this happened about 80 miles from the change. Anybody had this problem???? Thanks,Derald

A dealership put in green coolant?...interesting. I assume when you say it "won't fire", you mean it cranks, but will not start. If so, do you have fuel pressure? Fuel getting in the cylinders? Do you have spark?

222 degrees is not hot, it's within the normal operating range for the engine. I doubt that running the green coolant vs. the DEXCOOL is the source of your no-start problem.
I'm not trying to be insulting but you appear to have limited experience with the inner workings of the car, I recommend you get a service manual if you do not already have one.
As for the no start issue, I would start by pulling any codes and checking all of the fuses in the fuse block located adjacent to the battery.
I realize changing the orange anti-freeze to green is not my starting problem. The hot coolant blowing out of the surge tank engine side must have penetrated something that's causing my problems. Maybe PCM I don't know. Derald

Day two. You need to attach a gauge to the fuel rail to check pressure. Have you pulled a plug to see if fuel is getting in the cylinders. Do you have spark? You have been asked twice to pull codes, and still have posted nothing. If you want assistance, you will have to provide some info.
I'm wondering if he's blown the surge tank, where is that pressure coming from? It should handle the normal pressures. Might want to pull the plugs and look for coolant on them and hope none is found. Codes should tell the tale.
I narrowed down my problem to the fuel pump relay. I switched The AC relay and boom it fired right up. WHEEEEUUUU!!!! I was not getting any codes from the diagnostics. Another relay for the AC and I'll be good to go. Hey I really appreciate you guys for all the come backs, Thanks one hellavala for the help, Derald
