If the driver's side power window on my 2000 vert functions after a good belt of the door panel, am I looking at a regulator or a power window motor ? Or both
Mine did the same thing recently but on the passengers side. It made a light clicking sound everytime I tried to put the window down but nothing. After a 3-4 days it started working again so it might be getting shorted with water and then after the water dries it works again? Possible? It would be interesting if it starts working again after a few days.
It's more than likely one of the relays needs to be replaced/re-soldered...there is a DIY here on the forums for power windows/door lock intermittent operation repair. Use search as the one in the Ultimate DIY thread is missing pictures.
i'd do a search..you're more than likely looking at a DOOR CONTROL MODULE than a regulator/motor (they come as an assembly by the way)
I'm having the same issue and I've read about 10 threads on this problem and this is the first time anyone said anything about a Door Control Module. The banging and door slamming trick is NOT working for me. I get the clicks when I push the buttons and the window worked great yesterday. The car did sit for about a week and a half last week and it did rain a LOT yesterday so I can't decide where to check next.
I guess my question is, how do I know what to go for? I don't want to spend money on parts I don't need and that don't fix the issue.

Edit: it's an '04 Z06 with about 31,000 miles.
... and that is why people start new threads on topics that have been covered to death... because no one answers if you add in to the latest discussion. No one's fault, it's just the way way things go.
Regardless, the window worked fine this morning so I'll relax until it happens again, if ever.
