Default 275/45/18 for the back

Has any one tried a 45 or 50. Profile tire on the back of your c5. I'm wondering if it will improve the ride?

265/40/18 on the fronts and 275/40/18 on the rears on mine. Rides much better than the runflats. Only a slight difference in height (.4) but I don't have any issues with the traction control. I run BFG Gforce T/A's.

Do you have any pics of what it looks like? Out of curiosity I tried to look up those tire sizes on tirerack and discount tire direct, didn't come up with anything except the 265/50/18 in a Nitto 555. I checked the BFG website for the gforce T/A KDW and KDWS, no listing for either of those tire sizes. Are they car tires or truck tires? The 275/50/18 would be about 29" tall no? Seems like they'd be way too tall to even fit so I'm curious about how it looks.

Typically a taller sidewall height will always soften the ride if that is what you are looking for
JUST remember--- in order for the ABS and traction control systems to work correctly---You must retain a smiilar diameter height as stock- from front to rear----Having the rears 1 inch (or very close to it) taller
Deviating too far off of this MAY cause these systems NOT to work--This "split " is bulit into the ECM/BCM 's and even changing the sizes with a tuner won't correct it--

BFG doesn't make the KD's anymore. They make KDW's. I had a hard time finding them once I figured out what size(s) I wanted. I ended up going with 18x9.5 Z06 repros all around.

This gives you a better idea of how 18's look from the side. The tires are smaller though.. (before I went bigger):

Am thinking of raking the day lights out of mine doing a 315/40-18 NT05r rear and doing a 285/30-18 in front. Give it a nasty look to her.

That would probably look great! Other issue to think about is the speedo will be a little off. But the 18's will look real nice. I chose the
18's because I wanted the KD tires. Plus, 19's would've been much more $$ and I would've had to do KDW's. My car looks more "balanced" because the tires are close in size. But a much larger tire in the rear will take care of that. Don't forget the wider wheels too.

The fronts are like 26.1" and the rears are 26.5" I believe. They are as close to the stock sizes as I could get. I tried to do that so that I knew how they would fit into the wheel well without any guess work. Of course, I still took a tape measure and checked before the purchase. They are about 1" taller in the front wheel well (than stock), but they fit perfectly.

If you look on Tirerack.com you can research the tire height sizes and all of the specs to decide which tires will work best for you. I researched and studied the specs until I was positive of what I wanted and what was cost effective.

Plenty of room, as you can see (and still room to lower):

Are you SURE on those tire sizes? A 275/50/18 is 29" tall, not 26.5" tall. I'm pretty sure those are actually truck tires usually. That pic looks like 265 and 275/35/18s or thereabouts.

I guess no one is concerned about brakes these days or the safety of a car capable of going 150 MPH---Its your life ignore the warings if you want just don't take anyone with you----

My mistake. Good eye on that. They are 40 series not 50. Forgot what I put on my own car! Fronts are 265/40 and rears are
275/40's.

Not planning on doing 150 anytime soon and nothing wrong w/ safety on my end.
My setup is as close to stock as possible. I did immense research on the revs, height, etc. and matched them to the stock setup.
