Center console cigarette lighter some times will not work this started shortly after I purchased the car in 03. not a major problem for me so I left it alone, finally got around to trying to fix this intermittent problem. Figured that it was a lose wire at the plug in, found out that it is not, all wiring and connections are fine so I checked out the fuse center and pulled both fuse #1 conslcig and #7 c/ltr they checked fine I re-installed them but the center console lighter still did not work so I put the darn thing back together and now the center consol lighter is working again. The only thing that I can figure out is 1) Gremlins or 2) there is a lose wire in the passenger fuse box and I am not going to get into that! Has anyone else had this kind of a problem and did they find a reasonable way to fix it

If you are referring to the accessory plug in the console, it receives 12 volts from fuse #1, while the cigarette lighter receives 12 volts from fuse #7. Did you check for 12 volts and ground with a meter while you had the console removed? Honestly, you can't get a more simple circuit.....12 volts and ground.
