need some advice on oil pump o ring.

I'm in the middle of a Cam install and I put a new oil pump on. I also put a new pulley balanced on. My ques is, I used my old o ring in the new high flow oil pump. I forgot to put a new one in. I put it on the snout first lubed it real good and put it on strait. Sao you think I will be ok using the old one. It still looked good..... I wouldent have a problem taking my balancer off and putting the new one in but I don't know how I would get the balancer off. It don't have the three hole in it to put the pulley puller. Hopefully that o ring will be ok. Anyone else ever reuse there old o ring.

If it was in good shape it will probably be OK ... but of course a new one would have been the best route to go.

If it doesn't leak, you good to go. Pulling the balancer would be much more of an issue and you might still damage the new o-ring during reassembly...

I have reused mine a couple of times with no problem. It is not exactly the procedure I would recommend, but at 10:30 Sunday night, you do what you have to do!

if it wasnt cracked, dried, or pinched, its as good as a new one. if you were careful putting it on, your golden.
