I am trying to gravity bleed the tick master cylinder and I just can't seem to get a firm medal. what the heck am i doing wrong. should my helper be holding the clutch to the floor as i try to gravity bleed it.
I did try to install a remote bleeder but didn't have any luck so I took the bleed screw on and off. would I have gotten air in the system?
I am assuming I am not gravity bleeding it right b/c I have a soft pedal when the line to the slave is disconnected. I hold in the plastic check valve for 22-30 seconds per the instructions. thanks.
I must be living on the moon b/c the gravity bleeding is not working for me
I don't know much about bleeding a clutch (slave) but with a brake master you have to bench bleed first. Is this a possible step that could have been skipped?

it's like bench bleeding it. I press the check valve in and it's suppose to gravity bleed it. it's too soft and won't let me engage in 1st gear.
No need to bench bleed or otherwise. Hook everything up and simply bleed as you do brakes. In other words, have someone depress the clutch pedal while you crack open the bleed screw. Then snug the screw and have helper release the clutch pedal. Repeat until all air is out of the system. It may take several cycles before you actually see any fluid. A remote bleeder will make things a whole lot easier and if mounted way up high it will make it easier to get all the air out.

i think i got air in when i tried to install a remote bleeder after I installed the drivedtrain. that means i have to remove the headers again
ok thanks for all the advice. I needed two people to do this. the trick was to hold the check valve open, have someone depress the pedal and hold it while i closed the check valve. a couple of times doing this and that **** is firm now.
