We now have the ability to offer custom programming to your PCM in about 2-3 days. Morgan Motorsports actually does the programming in house for us ,much like Ed Wright. All programs have been dyno proven. If you have this done through A&A you save $50. Andy
Andy tell us more. When I dyno'd I noticed my a/f ratio fell like a rock after 5100 RPM, down to 10.9:1 which produced 292 RWHP on a 99 MN6 with Corsa Indy's and a 02 LS6 lid and K&N air filter. The tech said I left about 15 HP on the floor due to my a/f ratio's being out of wack. Would this re-programing help me? What's involved? How much?
What is the min amount or max amount of hp you will gain ?I have 2001 6speed would like to know more info and proven facts to back it up thanks . BLAZZZN 28
Could you post some prime examples of MMS tuning prowess. Also, a basic cost and the lead-time would be helpful. It would be nice to see some representative results of their work.
After all, MTI has a ton of C5's in the 11's, many in the 10's, and a few in the 9's. Cartek has a rep for extracting the torque and HP- so does Vette Doctors.
My point is that many don’t care how far they go if the results are there and many could care less how close if they don’t get results.
Last question – what is the benefit of going through you?
Re: Custom Programming Available- quick turn around. ('98 Six Speed)
The only benefit of going through me is saving $50. They charge $550 and I can have it done for $500. Obviously you can go directly to them. The results on a stock motor is not going be huge ,HP wise. It will change all the shift points ,handle gear changes, change the torque management, fans etc. etc. All the stuff I and others have been waiting months to have done. On a head cam motor the benefit is far greater. They do all their own in house dyno and tuning and seem to have a handle on what really works. I'm not the all knowing expert on this stuff but it is available as an alternative. If I can save you a couple of bucks and make a couple, it seems like a good deal. You can bring the car in and have it done right on the dyno, if you like. I can't get a discount on the dyno time but I can on the actual programming. After I get my MMS 224 cam in I'm going to do before and after tuning dynos and see what we get. I have Steve Cole tuning now but seem to still have idle problems. MMS assures me that they will be able to cure all that. ANDY
01 coupe automatic, with ATI, headers and exhaust...with superchips program
421RWHP...with MMS custom tuning 459RWHP, should be higher with new plugs and different gapping. How is that for MMS tuning?
That's the type of gains Mike was telling me about on modified vehicles. He really knows what makes these things work. I can't wait to get that cam in (that'll be my 4th one) and get it tuned RIGHT!
LS1Edit + a harness ? Do you know where they got their harness? THe guy I talked to said they are out and you need to make a power source..hmmm
If the PCM needs replacing for any reason, water damage or what ever, will their be an additional charge for reprogramming? Unlike the Powerloader all you would need to do is reflash it with the unit (PL) that you have in your possession.
I'll have to check on that ,Al. The problem is getting the Powerloader in your possesion in the first place. I think the Powerloader is a great product and Steve is a great guy. But not everyone has the patience to wait months at a time. I will continue to sell Powerloaders to those willing to wait. I know they will be happy with the results.
This is a great alternative and they seem to produce great results. Every car that has been tuned on their dyno, with every possible combination of mods has had the program saved. Many, many strokers ,head cam cars bolt on only cars have been tuned and had the program saved. These are not generic programs like the Hypertech etc. Nearly every combination has had a program optimised for that combination and is available to us all. Every last bit of power that could be wrung out of a combo has been incorporated in these programs.
Mike did a great job dialing my head and cam package in.. We ran a few Dyno pulls and played with the computer to get the best of both worlds..RWHP and RWTQ.
Initially Mike had the RWHP up over 435..but we sacrificed RWTQ..So he lowered the RWHP output and in doing so the result was an increase in the RWTQ...And lets face it guys "horsepower sells car's , but Torque wins races ;)
It's great having a tuner like MMS that does all the work in house.
I can imagine MMS has a great product, I realize that they have accomplished great success, that is not the question.
I have two more mods and I am complete, just wondering about reprogramming if the PCM goes bye bye. Keep us posted on MMS policy on reprogrammig (da Cost) and future updates for those that require it!
I went over and talked to Mike today. The first reflash is free if your PCM is damaged or something like that. If you want updates for new mods etc, they will be $75. Turnaround is only a couple of days and MMS is always there for customer support. I just put their 224 cam in and like it a lot. My friend Richard at WCCH is making his own titanium retainers and spring seats for dual springs. That's the setup I went with. I think dual springs are a better way to go. I ported my throttle body today and I think I'll change the MAF then get it tuned and dynoed.
Thanks!
One more question, can I make an appointment with you or MMS, so I can take my car in for tuning and get the discount without removing the PCM, or will personal attention cost more?????
Thanks!
