Would like some suggestions or thoughts on what oil pump to use. I have 01 ZO6 so i know i already have a LS6 oil pump, HOWEVER my car just crossed 90k. My conundrum is should i just replace the pump with a new factory? Or should i go ported? Ive heard some guys say its not worth it or it didnt make a difference? Im stuck!!!
I would do a mellings hi-volume pump. You should see a 5-10psi increase in oil pressure. Better to do it now while it's all open then after you button everything back up.

Conundrum? What do you fear in using a stock pump? 90k miles of faithful service.........and you have reservations about replacing it with one of the same quality?

...whe you put it that why it makes me feel "slow". Well i ask bc ive been told more pressure (to an extent) better security more efficiency, more performance. Well my mechanic is going to do the work and he asked me about the pressures with the one i have and its great. 50+psi cold idle....60+ under WOT and 40-44psi hot idle. The reason i want to replace it is bc of age. It would just suck to get everything goin and have my pump fail. Unlikey but im not one to take risks on the internals. HOWEVER since the stock does so well i now wonder if i should just replace the stock with a new one and dont go ported at all!.....

.....guess you missed my point. Why wouldn't you replace stock with stock?
