Hey all. I wanted to get your opinion on something I found interesting. I just picked up a 02 c5 and my oil pressure always reads 80psi. Everything is working properly. I was thinking it is probably the sensor. Any advice? Or should it always read that much? Thanks!
bad sensor woulds be my guess. The po of my car changed it before i bought it. Good luck on removing the intake. Stretch your back good befdore starting! I guess it would be easier paying sonmeone though
many threads on this. Did you check the oil pressure on the DIC?? If so, did it read a rediclous amount 130psi+? Sounds like your sending unit went bad. Mine did the same thing except it read 60psi crusing on the highway. and 50+ at hot idle. After a few days, the guage finally spiked. Be sure you replace that unit with a brass one and not aluminum. Good luck.
Hey guys, thanks for the info. My DIC oil pressure is reading between 120-130 like you said ZZ06. Yeah definitely the sending unit. I found that pretty detailed DIY thread, I must have missed it earlier. I appreciate your help. Looks like I'll have a fun afternoon this weekend.
