Default 2001 door removal

I know, I need to buy a factory service manual. Usually I borrow one from a friend but he went away for the week.

What is the best procedure for removing the passenger door from a 2001 Corvette?

Thanks,
Bill

Yes. I am removing a damaged door to replace with one that isn't.

Disconnect battery, disconnect the wiring in the door. Get a helper or 2 and unbolt the hinges.

The easier way to install the doors is with the fender off since adjusting them is a lot easier.

Is it better to disconnect the bolts on the hinge that attaches to the door or the bolts on the hinge section on the car itself?

Most unbolt the bolts on the A pillar not the door it's the getting things lined up again that's always the challenge, especially with the fender on.

Simple stuff right from the Service Manual.
----------------------------------------
Door Replacement
Removal Procedure

Mark the harness grommet at the edge of the opening in the hinge pillar to aid in determining the depth to reinstall the grommet on reassembly.

Disconnect the harness grommet from the hinge pillar.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Mark the location of the hinges on the pillar.
Support the door.
Remove the bolts attaching the hinges to the hinge pillar.
Remove the door.
Transfer parts as necessary.
