Well do to weather and business trips, it looks like it is going to be a while before I can get my new 02 out. So, I've been doing some thinking. I've never really liked the road noise out of the EMT's. Since they only have 5 miles on them, this might be the best time to put some Pilot's on the car. I was thinking I might be able to sell them EMT's and get enough out of them on ebay that the upgrade to the Pilot's might not be that much in the long run. Do you think this is a stupid move? Maybe I'm asking the wrong bunch though. :D
it isnt the tires fault you hear tire noise.. it's the cars fault ..there is no insulation.. all tires are noisy.,., I put pilot sport on last thursday after getting 43,000 miles from my EMTS.. I took the car out on the interstate.. up to 80 mph.. I drove it on cement and on black top... I laughed out loud in the car.. The Pilots where almost as noisy as my 43,000 mile EMT's not quite but they were not quiet by any stretch of the imagination.. I returned the tires and put on a new set of EMT.. there was no difference in the new EMT.s over the pilots.. I am not saying the mIchelins aren't better handling tires I am just talking about the noise... I spent the last three days sound proofing the car.. Ive reduced the noise level by 50 /60 % ... see the thread I posted with pictures in the tech section under my name..
Were the Michelins Zero pressure tires? I spoke with a tech at Michelin and that is the only complaint they have had from the zero pressure series. I think I am going to go with Michelin Pilot sports (not the zero pressure A/S) and so I would be interested in your response before I repeat the same experience.

Thanks for the advice!

Just do it. You will be positively surprised by better cornering, better steering and a more silent car!

No they were not Zero pressure... you are not going to get rid of tire noise buy changing tires.. when I bought the new EMT's driving around town or at 30 / 40 mph there was no noise with the new tires.. but at highway speeds.. the noise was there.. and also with the new Pilot sports.. I like the look of the EMT';s.. better than the zero presurre Michelins.. and they are 50 dollars a tire more expensive.. SO I decissed to take off the Michelins and put on the new EMT's..
