I just bought a 1998 corvette convertable. There is a switch next to the steering wheel colume and I cannot figure out what it does. It is next to my ignition switch also. The owners manual does not address this switch. Can someone advise. Thanks

You had posted your question in the Help section, which is used for Help with the website itself (forum issues, account issues, website issues, etc.).

You will receive a better response if you post Corvette technical questions in the appropriate Corvette section. In your case, you would want the C5 Tech section.

I've moved your thread to the appropriate Corvette section.

Good luck!

No pic, it is next to the ignition switch, it is Factory. On top of the switch there is like a small vent.

I dont recall seeing a switch but the vent has to deal with your climate control, the thermometer is behind it to determine when to turn the ac on/off. There is also a sensor on your dash that determines how much sun is coming in to the car which also plays a factor on how the ac operates.

Are you talking about two switches or the same switch? To the best of my knowledge, there is no OEM switch next to the ignition. This would be a lot easier if you would post a picture of it...

If for some reason you can't post a picture, can you describe it in a little more detail? Is it a rocker style switch?

It sounds like there is a switch above the vent for the ac where there is a blank space on the cover.

Perhaps he is talking about the switch on the column that moves the steering wheel in and out?
