Ok I just ordered a TNT N2O kit, 100hp jets. Haven't installed it yet. Took the car down to atlanta chassis dyno yesterday and got 296.9 rwhp http://www.jaredmonaco.com/corvette/baseline.jpg
Now I want to get that number to 350, and at the same time, don't want to do anything that might agravate the N2O system and harm the engine. I'm assuming that if I can pull 350rwhp without N20 I can hit just over 450 with.
Does anyone have suggestions to add a solid 55hp.
It would be easy to get there with heads/cam...just a cam change could do the job. Most people see 360-370 Rw with intake, pulley and exhaust bolt-ons and a cam. I believe you can achieve 350 Rwhp with the right combination of bolt-ons and tuning alone...not gonna be easy but it's doable.
The best place to start is with a cold/ram air intake and an underdrive pulley. Also, having AutoTap is a good idea with any nitrous equipped car for monitoring the air/fuel ratio.
How does AutoTap work? How do I use it? I was thinking about changing the Cam, but not the heads, at least not now. I can do that kind of work. Even got all the AC equipment so I can pull the condensor. But what cam would work good with N2O? Would I have to change the valve springs and push rods?
AutoTap is a PC based software platform for PCM diagnostics. You can monitor anything that is involved in the engine management system. Check out the forum mall for more precise info, etc... It really is a valuable tool.
Any of the popular aftermarket cams will work well with nitrous. I really like MTI's offerings. You should give them a call to discuss which one would be best for your setup, ie. radical vs. streetable. Their phone number is in my sig.
Yeah, you'll need to change valve springs and pushrods with a cam swap. They can be changed without the heads coming off.
