I would say that is a production number, on my old LS1 intake it has a number 12556333. All I can say for sure is, the part# is 88894339 for the LS-6 intake.

I really think you are O.K.

My 2001 LS6 intake is stamped 12561184

I did not know there was a difference between 2001 and 2002.

The new manifold has an extra "plug" to prevent whistling at certain speeds. The above part number is correct, and you should be able to determine if you have the updated 2002 manifold just by looking at it. See if the "dead section" at the front is gone.

EHS - thanks. I don't figure this is really important, but might as well know what I have. When you speak of the "dead section" at the front, I assume you mean on the under side of the manifold where the baffling is?
