vette wouldnt start help
this morning i went to get in the vette and turned the key and nothing happened..wouldnt even click..well i put some jumper cables on it and it fired right up but now the check engine light is on and i checked the DIC for codes but they were all old ones..could the check engine light be on from a bad battery thats the only thing im thinking it could be

Weak or bad batteries in C5s can cause all kinds of wonky electrical problems, DIC messages, etc. Put a new battery in, or a known good and fully charged one, then start and run the car for a while, clear messages/codes, and see what if anything is still wrong. Good luck.
