Default Changed the tires

Today, after much reading on this forum about :-
Jacking Points and Pucks
Stand Positions
Torque on bolts
Tires, where to get 'em (Discount Tires Online)
Tires, Who to mount and balance (Big-O Tires)

The Z06 has been lowered so is too low for the jack to fit under the jacking puck, so first had to drive up onto a 2 inch thick pank to raise it up further from the ground.

Did the same on both sides and inserted the jack stands.

The old tires are Nitto Extreme Drags (305x35x18)

New tires are Nitto Invos (295x35x18) and cost $16 to mount and balance, for both.

I had to buy a torque wrench, 3/4 inch deep socket, and the jack stands. Removed and replaced the wheels myself. I want to do as much on the vehicle myself, including oil changes etc so will use these again and again...also did not want to take the Vette in and have someone jack it up in the wrong place.

Then cleaned the rims, inside and out. Cleaned the wheel wells and remounted wheels.

Looking good.

Congratulations on your project. It is rewarding to do your own work on your car. Enjoy the new tires, and try not to burn them off so fast!
