Having issues after giving someone a jump start...??
The other day my fiances Accord was having issues starting up, it's a consistent thing that only happens in the morning when the car is cold.
In order to get the car to start, it has to crank over for a WHILE. So long that it completely ran her battery down where the car would not crank over anymore.
I decided to hook up some jumper cables, let the Vette run and charge up the Honda battery for a bit( Optima red top still in Vette).
Then the Honda still needed a good full minute of cranking off of the Vettes battery in order to start up.
Ever since then, each time that I shut my car off..it seems to lose it's "sync".
If I leave the DIC on say "miles to empty" feature...each time that I re-start the car it's back on "odometer"??
This morning when I went to go to work...I got nothing but a big "click" and no crank or lights on the dash.
After a couple more tries just turning the key, I was able to get the lights on the dash to come on(still hearing the "click" each time I tried to start it).
Pulled the codes and I came up with a C 1255 H C...
So I turned the key back off, tried again and the car cranked over and fired.
The C 1255 turned into an "H" code, all of my stereo presets and clock had been lost but the car started and I was able to clear the code.
Just went out to drive home for lunch, car fired right up, no codes but it still lost my presets and the DIC was back on odometer...
I'm all ears for any ideas..

Thanks in advance,
Donnie
I would agree, especially since it appears that the Honda's battery was pretty well down on charge, and you were using the Optima as a "buffer", to pump up the Honda. You may have damaged the Optima...
That is why I have a jump battery pack and a sears charger capable of jump starting a car..................................... ..................
And I don't need help with the Honda guys..I've already been through everything over on the Honda forum.
I'll have the battery load tested, thanks for the advice just didn't want to make sure I didn't take something out by cranking the car over like that.
