Default Driver's Seat Lumbar

Did a search, but wanted info on my particular situation.

1999 convertible

The driver's side lumbar supports do not inflate....when I push the switch I hear a bit of humming...not as loud as the passenger seat that does work.

Humming stops when I release the switch, but none of the lumbar supports inflate.

Seat moves fine, memory works fine.

Is it the compressor, because it seems pretty quiet, or do I take seat cover off and look to the bladders or their nipple connections?

Thanks

You can easily take the seat cover off to get to the bladders. There are zippers at the back portion and the top back portion. Just know the bladders are terribly expensive but blood pressure cuff replacement bladders are supposed to work real nice and a whole lot cheaper. I've got two child's cuff replacement bladders on order now for the side's. Adults would work for the upper and lower seat back bladders.

just curious, I have the same thing. Are the bladders not repairable? If so, why not? I plan of doing this sometime this winter.

Do a search on this - there are some great writeups on fixing the bladders with inexpensive solutions.

If the compressor is making some noise, but none of the bladders inflate, would that most likely be a problem with the bladders?

Or is it possible that the compressor itself is shot?

I guess the best place to start is to remove the seat cover and check.

Time to buy some blood pressure cuffs I guess

DO a search for Red Devils lumbar repair. He includes the link to the blood pressure bladders which work better than a full cuff. Mine work great.

My side bladder, the tube broke off the bladder itself and in such a way that makes it impossible to repair. I've got the small BP cuff bladder coming Tuesday and the seat is apart waiting on it now.
