I was quoted 2 months yesterday by carputing for the 2001 version.

I thought you were getting fixed up with "The Vette Doctors"?

I'm no expert, but I think most of the problems/dificulties involve the active handling / traction control sections standard on all 2001+. Cole just turns off traction control so as to not have to mess with that. But if you are making a program which allows traction control to be on while allowing you to make other adjustments - that would involve more detailed coding and testing.

I feel your pain Buck... I need some programming done for my 01 as well. I emailed Ed Wright and he emailed me right back saying he could do it. I am going to use him as a last resort because I really want dyno tuned.

I emailed Carputing today (they make LS1edit) and they seemed to be willing to work with tuners that want to beta test the new version for 01's. Hopefully I can find someone who will work with me and them. They also said they expect to release the '01 version in the next 1-2 months, I won't hold them to it as I work in the Software Business and know how these things workout.

You can have a dealer flash your PCM to a '00 and LS1edit will work. Apparently the computer runs a little slower afterwards (for reads and updates), but otherwise it looks like it works, but I have no first hand experience. You can always flash back to '01 when the new version of Ls1edit comes out.

Speedworks has it as part of the beta program. We haven't found any serioius issues with it yet.

They're working on a bench setup to take in PCM's for programming if you're too far away to travel.
