I just got a flameball shift **** today and am planning to install it this weekend. I know many of you guys have them and I was wondering if you had any installation tips or tricks. Mainly I need to know which wire to use for the light so that the light is on when my headlights come on. I also thought of installing it with a rocker switch so that I could flip it on and off any time I want. Has anybody done it this way? Thanks :)
use 2 T connectors and clip them over the orange and brown wires as 99 said above. Then put the male ended connectors on your bulb wires, plug them in and you are set.
IMHO, ya dont need the toggle switch, just put the parking lights on and it will illuminate.
Thanks guys! I guess I will skip the toggle switch.
Buckmaster: I ordered the **** from Gene at Flameball. It did come with a crimp on "harness"
See5: Thanks for the tip.
Hopefully I will have time to install my Stinger this weekend too. It looks like the Flameball install will only take a few minutes so I probably will have some time to spend on the exhaust.
Also, did you guys use Locktite? I have some left over Locktite Blue from the Hurst shifter install that I was thinking of using.
I used locktite that was supplied with the adapter or the flameball kit, the only trouble was with getting under the bottom edge of the boot, be carefull it will rip if you pull on it too hard.
If you Wanted to install a rocker switch with use of the adapter and wiring kit...how would you do it. I tend to do cruise nights, etc. and people frown on leaving parking lights on when parked.
I would like spectators to be able to see my Flameball when checking out the car.
A rocker switch would be the way to do it. Ultimately...have it work automatically with the light, OR when the car is off (using acc power)...with a toggle switch.
