Re: Does Ed Wright Visit The Forum? (Buckmaster)
Buckman:
See my sig. You and i are running almost the exact set up with heads, cam, headers, A4, 3.42 with sy 3500 (except my vert is a 98). I have Ed Wright programming and i defintely recommend Ed as his customer service is awesome and you will have your pcm back within a week. My car has run strong with his programming (11 second club) but of course its not perfect b/c i sent him pcm in mail and never had benefit of in house dyno pcm tuning. At any rate, he is the best option via mail order that i can think of, but howabout LS1 edit for you on ARE dyno or some other tuner who has wideband dyno and LS1 edit. THaT would be your best option. Ophs, soory dude, i realized now no Ls1 Edit for 2001. Go with Ed he will get you dialed in 100% better than your current situation and if you rely on steve cole any longer the season will pass you just like that. Thinking of getting my car on a dyno live with a professional LS1 edit tuner b/c i this is the best way to really dyno her in.:D But for you my friend i give Ed a big thumbs up! Simply give him your cam specs and all other info and you are off to the races and running strong within days:D
Goodluck,
Nitrovette
PS-Ed wright has my rev limiter at 6700 and car seems to shift around 6200 rpms. I think my shift points shoud be set a bit higher around 6500 for optimal 1/4 mile times. :smash:

Re: Does Ed Wright Visit The Forum? (Buckmaster)
Buck:
I think Ed Wright would be able to take care of your frustration even if it means sending pcm back and forth a couple of times in the mail. His customer service rocks and he does have a web site. I don't have it handy but try Fastchips as your web sight search word and you wil find it no problem. He is in Oklahoma. Any chance getting your car flatbedded there for some on hands tuning by Ed on his dyno. This would be your ideal set up but obviously a bit unrealistic b/c of geographics. I feel your pain brother and see no reason that Ed cant make it Wright. LOL I know for a fact from talking with him in the past via timely emails on his part and from some of the guys like red 98 C5 in Jersey who has dealt extensively with him, that he will do what it takes to satisfy his customers. I don't see you have much of any other options for immediate relief and agree with you that the whole steve cole deal is enough to make one :U
Iam going to use Ed Wright to program my PCM for the upcoming mods (see sig). I already emailed him & he usually answers within the same day. He can send you a new tuned PCM which you can install, then you send him back your original one. Cost wise it is the same, but this is to minimize down time.
Be careful though. I've heared that Ed locks the PCMs that he programs. This means that you won't be able to dyno tune your car via LS1-EDIT once your PCM is programmed by Ed Wright. Iam not sure about that,, better check with Ed
ewright@mail.gorilla.net
I think Ed Wright does fine work. I had him do my '02 car and it rocks. It really eliminated the driveability problems I was having with the other mods made to the car. His e-mail and performance response is far superior to Steve Cole. Try him out...
Well...I am finally about fed up with Mr.Cole.. :( After nearly 2 months, repeated e-mails and oh so many phone calls my PLII is STILL not ready for my ARE H/C/pulley mod this coming week with Mike Norris...Very frustrating  I don't understand how a vendor that just is so arrogant to not even pick up the phone for a minute and respond to a loyal customer. It just baffles me.
Anyway ..I'm thinking Ed Wright here for the program. But wonder if the PCM CAN be programmed with the TTS program in it. I've heard that Steve locks out future programming by others...Anyone.....Ed...??

Thanks,

Thanks man! I got these pups from Nate @ Xtreme. I have heard that LPE has better pricing, but I have not verified that since I already have these. :D Wheels alone were about $3600 delivered (if I recall correctly :p:). They are 18*9.5 fronts and 18*11" rears. :) Call around and see who has the best deal on them. Try Matt at Exit28 as well. Good Luck! :chevy

Re: Does Ed Wright Visit The Forum? (Nitrovette)
Hey,
I will probably go with Ed when Mike Norris does my heads/cam later this year.
I remember everyone telling me I have to get powerloaded last year.
My thought was that I did not want to have to wait 4-6 weeks to get the powerloader.
I took mine to Pro Auto Tech (who I think uses Ed Wright) and they reprogramed it and got it back to me in 3 days!!!!!!!!
Buckmaster...Just a note. I e-mailed Ed Wright this morning 8:00 am EST and I had a e-mail response in by 10:00... I called at 10:30...he's on the phone talking to me......Now that's a mench:yesnod:!
I also called Steve Cole again..just because I don't want to spend another $450.00 on new programming and I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt FWIW and guess what....NO RESPONSE...NOTHING!! :mad This is not the way to treat customers!! :mad Repeat Customers at that!! Poor Judy..such a sweetheart and she has to deal with all these annoyed people....He just doesn't care :bs
Buckmaster - don't feel bad - you've championed Powerloaders a long time after others here have abandoned all hope of using Steve. It's kind of sad to see a businessman who seriously doesn't get it that much.
