So I changed my oil this past weekend and noticed that the inside of the driver's side front tire is VERY worn. The car has a stock suspension but is lowered with stock bolts & cut bushings in the front and longer bolts in the rear. After I lowered it about a year and a half ago, I had an alignment done on the car. Is this an alignment issue? Or does it sound like I need to replace the shocks?
I would definitely have the alignment checked. It is not uncommon for the cam bolts to slip if not properly torqued. Also it's a good time to thoroughly check the rest of the suspension components.
I would doubt that a work shock would cause the wear.
Yes, it was at least a couple of hundred miles before the alignment was done. I'm making an appointment to get an alignment done. I'll post up what the alignment shop says about the current settings.
Could also be that the Z06 alignment specs are simply too aggressive for how you drive. I've seen several people here mention that they got inner wear (indicating too much -camber) with the Z06 alignment #'s and going to the base #s was the solution.
Camber on the front left was -1.5* before the alignment, so it was an alignment issue. And yeah, it wore the tires enough that they need to be replaced. Awesome.
Thanks for the input, everyone.
