I'm confused. You have a Z06, right? So there is no pan on the tranny, or near the trans for that matter. What bolt, at what location, and what did you torque it to?

Always listen to that voice in the back of your head telling you to stop.
I was going to put the engine in the car (1968 pontiac catalina) tonight, along with a level 6 tranny so I can begin on the 3.73 gears.
I'm hopeing the auto parts store will have a f body oil pan bolt, the long 1 nearest to the tranny.

While your advice is appreciated, you might consider that voice to be saying...

"Buy a decent torque wrench, you're working w/ aluminum parts now."

Broken bolts are only the beginning if you're going to guess on tightening. Warped oil pan, stripped threads, etc.

Kinda what I was thinking. Such a fine motor, and it's not even a Bonneville?

If you dont use torque wrenches, you'll be suckin' hind titty from here to eternity, especially now with the aluminum everything that is LSx.

PS I put an LS1-4L60E combo into my old 82 Corvette and it was the best thing I could have done for that car, loss of weight, easy HP increase, and GM OEM fuel injection drive-ability.
