Default LS7 installed in C5?

I'm preparing an LS7 for installation into a 02 Z06 track car. Looking for advice and the list of hidden "gotchas" associated with this type of install. Already aware of the reluctor issue, and throttle body cabling... Anything else I need to watch out for?

Knock sensors need to be relocated to side of the block. Cam position sensor is on the front cover instead of the back of the engine. You can buy harness estensions for these.

Motor mount or block will need to be clearanced.

Thanks. Didn't know about the knock sensers or motor mounts. What headers did you use?

I bought a Moroso 12 Qt dry sump tank, but am having second thoughts as the Moroso & Patterson tanks are about 16" tall and wide where the GM tanks is very tall and narrow. I think the idea on the GM tank is that there is more oil surface area as the oil spins around inside the tank and that allows more air to evacuate. What tank did you use?

Did you use the original 78mm MAF or did you use a larger MAF and re-tune the table for the larger MAF?

I am running a Halltech Killer Bee 100mm air bridge with the C6 blade type MAF sensor. I did retune for the different sensor.

LS2 oil pan and American Racing 1 7/8 headers...I shaved my block for the motor mount clearance issue and no problems. Went with L92 heads and L76 intake thus the larger TB.. You will love the new power and torque..cheers while you are apart you may want to put in a better clutch also

thanks. I already replaced the clutch when the existing LS6 was modified to produce 433 rwhp. Went with Exedy dual disk and all clutch-related problems went away. I'm going with dry sump setup, with Dewitt radiator with built in oil cooler, 1 3/4 LG headers, vararam, cam & valve spring change, and a tune. Still struggling with the MAF decision. Talking to 21stcentury muscle cars today to get his reccomendations. Been extremely pleased with their work to date.

You will definitely want to install a larger MAF as the 78mm will be the choke point in the intake. Also you will need to budget for a box to change from the 52x to 24x crank signal unless the crank has been replaced with an earlier one (Lingenfelter makes one).
