I have a 2000 coupe and I constantly have to press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time to sync the keyless entry with the computer. I have a brand new batter in the FOB and I can't figure out why it keeps losing sync...any ideas?

Replace FOB. Intermittent contacts/connections due to cold-solder joints and/or cracking on the circuit board.
Inside of the fob is a four-post device that has been known to break its connections to the circuit board. Although only a few have been able to repair their's by resoldering this device, the majority of them just fail and all you can do is replace the fobs with new ones.
I tried soldering the 4 post piece and had no success. Is there any chance that it is an onboard computer issues or receiver issue with the car? I guess last resort is to get a new FOB.
If you are getting a reading from your tire pressure sensors the receiver is working. If not check fuse 27 in the passenger side footwell fuse box. If that fuse is good, the receiver is most likely bad.

As long as your receiver has power (if your TPMs are working it does), no.
