Default Flasher By-pass for the "Mechanically Challenged"

The electrical part of this process is the easiest part. The difficulty for me was removing and replacing the the portion of the dash under the steering column. I found the discription at this link to be extremely helpful: http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=24

Here are a couple of pointers for the 2000 C5 Coupe. There are a total of 4 #15 Torx screws. Two are at the "bottom" of the knee panel and two are covered. The white plug is a little bit of a bear to get apart. The two metal spring clips on the left side of the knee panel may come off the knee panel. Replacing them is again a little bit of a bear. The metal female screw holders for the two screws under the knee panel will probably fall out of place.

If you are doing this job for the first time and get done in less than 2 or 3 hours, you should be working for NASA.

Having said all this, I would do it again. The quote I got from my local "Vette Guy" was $500. Even for California prices, I thought this was way out of line.

You may not want to do this in real cold weather. You have to pull a portion of the dash away as you remove the knee panel. I don't think I would try this is if the plastic was cold and brittle.

Last but not least, thanks to lionelhutz, pewter99 and Rebel 1, for their posts and help in this repair.

Is this the same thing as the hyperflash harness install?

I'm about to install mine.

Have you checked with http://www.corvette-enhancements.com/? They will probably be able to answer your question. My impression is the answer is yes, but I would check with Corvette Enchancements.

You only use the part "removing the knee panel Part 1" to install the turn signal flasher bypass.
