I've read many of the threads on phantom current draw. I'm showing 5.74 amps with everything off. My battery will run dead in 10-12 days if I don't start it. Grounds all look good. I pulled each fuse individually with no change in current draw.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
5.7 AMPS??? That should be EASY to track down, with 5+ amps, there should be at least a warm wire somewhere. A clamp on ampmeter might help track it down. Are you sure of that current draw? Check at night too in a dark garage, see if you see a light on somewhere (like the sunvisor lights or under the hood) that you normally would not notice.
Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Can someone point me towards a thread on how to check out the alternator diodes and the location of the headlight control module?
If you pulled all of the fuses and you're still getting a large draw like that, you need to look at items that are not turned off or on by the ignition.
Your battery won't last 10 to 12 days @ 5.74 amps draw. So I'm guessing something is not right with how you are trouble shooting.
+1 ... that was my thoughts also.
krawfo - are you waiting at least 20 minutes to make sure all the computers have gone into "sleep mode" before checking the parasitic current draw? If not, you will see way more current draw then what is normal.
After all the computers have gone into sleep mode, then the current draw should drop down to ~ 20 mA.
