I started another thread a couple of weeks ago about my battery draining. Alot of people said it was my iPod harness. I figured it out by not having the car on and plugging my iPod into the connector, it starting charging with the car off. So I took my radio out and used a amp meter to test what wire was always on. It came out to be the brown one. The reason why im posting this is cause there is a excellent write up about this same problem, but what makes mine different is I didnt have the extra harness. I have the PXHGM4 harness which is the same one as the others that have the extra harness. Not sure why mine didnt, but for those who have the same one as me this is what you do. Get the iPod white box out and find the brown wire(pic below) cut it where you have plenty of room to work with, on the brown wire plug side, connect a long piece of wire and run it to the little plug above the fuse box in the pass. foot well. Splice that wire into the yellow wire(its a switched wire). Then electrical tape the other end of the brown wire so it cannot touch anything. Thats it, it worked for me, and I have no problems. My iPod has NO power until I turn the key on!I will report back in a couple of weeks or so to let y'all know if it stopped draining my battery. Sorry for the lack of pics, I hope I explained myself well, if not let me know and I'll try to get into more detail.
Yes thats the write up I was talking about. I was beginning to wonder if there were 2 different harness's or if the manufacture stopped putting the "extra" harness on the ones for the Vette. By the way, I love your Vette man! Its the BADDEST SIlver Vette ive seen!

Thanks Bryan !
Yea it was easy as finding a "switched" 12v, and plugging it into the always on 12v. Easy as pie...
