Holy Freakin Melted Pullies Batman!
Had a massive pulley failure on the upper tensioner this afternoon. I'll be scraping melted plastic off of various engine components for the next month.

That'll buff right out and be good as new. 
Actually that one's not near as bad as mine when it let go. Out of town on the Interstate. Bearing seizes, friction generates heat, melts plastic, etc, etc. Loud screeching noises, bada bing.
Unfasten the retaining bolt, slip on a new pulley, and replace bolt. Good to go. Oh yeah, replace belt too.
Most APs have it.

My insurance covered the tow back to my house and while they were doing that I ran over to O'Reilly and picked up the belt and pulley. It was really simple. I was amazed that there were melted bits of plastic in the vanes of the belt. The only thing that sucks is that I wanted a Goodyear belt but they didn't have any so I had to go with a cheap *** 15 dollar True Value belt. I'll replace it when I get back from Afghanistan next year.

I agree on the Goodyears. Gatorbacks all the way for me too.
Stay safe over there in Tally country. Cap a couple of the weasels for me while you're there.
