In order to use Fast chips, looks like the computer needs to come out. How difficult is this? Can a non-technical person do this without breaking anything?
It's not too bad, just take it slow. It also helps to remove the "gill", the black plastic piece behind the wheel well. It has two screws; you'll see them when you open the fender door. The PCM pulls toward you, not up, once you get the brtacket loose. I removed the front screw and loosened, but did not remove, the rear bracket screw and the PCM slid out once I quit trying to pull it upward and pulled it toward me, paralell to the ground.
I helped my neighbor pull his and my shop manual says not to remove that back screw as described above but I found it much easier to install it if you took that screw off. It is good if you have a whole bunch of different size short 1/4 extensions and a really small 1/4 ratchet. Removing the panel in the gill may make it a lot easier. we didn't know that trick until we talked to the Tech at Criswell who told us about that.
Don't forget to put the Vette on a jackstand before you work on it :smash: :yesnod:  :smash:
