My Procharger/Bling Engine Build Thread
It's an '01Zo6 with a Procharger, polished headers, and fully polished engine.
The wiring will be minimized/hidden, air, coils, pcv, evap, power steering res/etc relocated off the engine. It's going to be clean, looking like it's sitting there with no clutter.
I did this with my last twin turbo ls1, so this is a repeat except with a procharger and LOTS more detail.
Lots of time invested... This will be a nice weekend toy.

Here's some pics of the build so far.

Cleaned shortblock
Alt bracket
Alternator
Water pump
Mock up with the water pump/tb installed
Some pics from last night getting the PS pump and bracket installed on the engine, also steering rack/ebcm.
Factory bolts will rust after being polished, and clear paint isn't trusted. So I just cleaned 'em up and painted black.
Assembled
Bolted up.... the PS fluid resevior is being relocated. The polished steering rack, polished ebcm and bracket are now installed, done for the night
Fenders are off for coil relocation, took off my front bumper to get the original build sheet.

Tonight -I'm removing the PCM to send to ECS for a base mail order tune, that way I can cycle the springs, check the engine out before taking it promptly for a dyno tune.
This weekend the blower is going to be polished..... this is how I got it. Scratched up pretty bad and needs a re-polish.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that bracket is the Pre-03 alternator bracket and will break easily when you throw a supercharger on. It will make a bloody mess when it breaks too! The fix is to get the 03+ bracket (now all they offer) or get the ECS idler.
Sell that bracket to someone without a supercharger before you smoke your good works.

Great work, Josh. You're crazy, but in a good way.
On the bracket, it's a little too late... Not removing it, when/if it breaks... it breaks.
It's been forever since I've driven the car, it's goin together within the month!!!
From last night...
She's not lookin' so hot right now..

Ready to take out the PCM to send off for the base tune.
Everything seemed like no big deal, until...
Problem, looks like serious corrosion between the computer itself and the plastic bracket it rides in. The plastic bracket broke.
Here it is on the floor... you can see the broken end and the corrosion. I can either epoxy the bracket back together or order a new/used one. Beer.
Odd that there were no other signs of corrosion except on the bracket itself and the computer... just dirt remains which will get cleaned up before the fenders go back on.
PCM boxed up and just shipped on my lunch break to ECS for tuning.
Did some other stuff last night, got the spacers installed to lower the radiator cradle. Along with some trimming of the top of the radiator the blower intake and charge pipes will have clearance.
Tonight -I'll be installing the stainless headers or I might relocate the coils to their new home inside the fender wells....
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Then I dropped about $800 to complete it including a bunch of A&A stuff, Lingenfelter fuel pump, radiator shroud, gauges, etc.
Here's a pic of the kit as I recieved it.
P1sc with a 3.85 pulley, should be in the 8-9 psi range with my set-up.
This is the ducting I got from A&A

Nice improvment over stock Got these from forum vendor Superman09, they are only $899 shipped for the catted version. Made in USA.
Matching catted X-pipe
Tech Tip: When buying new manifold gaskets, get the f-body kind, part number 12558573.... they fit the header pipes better compared to the oval Corvette gaskets. The original is pictured for comparison.
Some copper anti-seize on the manifold bolts..
First side getting bolted down...
Installing the coolant temp sensor
Passenger side in with starter wired up..
Gapping the new TR6 plugs to .035
Both coil packs relocated, here's the drivers side..
Custom wires routed... lots of space between the primaries... slick.
160* thermostat already polished. Needed to hack off this little tab to fit the Prochargermain chop with a saw
File down the main edges
Polished and ready again
New gasket part #12561155 and polished stainless button head screws to hold it to the pump
Water pump bolts wire brushed and painted high heat black
Coolant Crossover bolted down with more polished button heads
Procharger bracket plates ready for assembly

Mocked on the floor
On the engine
So many angles, it all glitters

Computer is back in... some other stuff.... more to follow!
