Default Problems with DIC? IPC?

Here are the symptons:

1 DIC buttons inoperative. They work and then don't work. Cannot do a reset.
2 Message on the DIC cannot be controlled. Sometimes configuration options show up and change. Sometimes the DIC shows information as directed by the DIC buttons but the buttons won't work. Then, the message changes by itself.
3 DIC buttons don't all light up.
4 Radio buttons are not all illuminated.

I've seen in some threads that the IPC could be the culprit to some of these symptoms. Is the IPC a separate module that interfaces with the instrument cluster that can be replaced or does the entire instrument cluster have to be replaced?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry but I'm not familiar with the connector. Hopefully it's obvious when I get in there and I guess you want me to check that the connection is tight?
