Drop in LS7
So I am at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago today and I see a "LS1 direct drop in LS7" for sale for $3500.00. Sure it will likely bolt right in but I wonder if the seller thinks it will drop in and be done.
I would really love to drop in a LS7 someday, but I assume it will require a lot more than just bolting it in, nothing can be that simple. First of all I am sure the factory injectors are probably too small, and I doubt if the thing is not going to have to be tuned and mapped.
What do you think people
By the way, an awesome show to see, glad I drove th3 3+ hours to go.

NEVERMIND, I'm stupid, it was an LS6, big difference of course.
The GM part number was 19210918 and it said 98-02 upgrade, how much hassle would it be worth to swap out the whole engine for an LS6 upgrade, still would require a tune job. LS1 with LS6 heads and intake would be about the same wouldn't it. That would definately be cheaper
I guess this would be an inexpensive upgrade if you trashed your LS1 and needed to replace it.
You will not see any performance increase with an LS1 vs LS6 shortblock. If your shortblock is still in good condition, use the $3,500 to buy a pair of AFR 205 heads, a 224° cam, 7.400" hardened pushrods, and some full roller rocker arms. Then you will have about 75 more rwhp than a stock LS6.
