Gas Gauge up date
I wasn't happy about possibly having to take it into the dealer, but decided to drive it till the gas gauge got down to the point it displayed the same condition before taking it into the dealer. I had a bottle of fuel treatment and decided what the heck, putting it in with about 190 miles left to go , and drove around till the gas gauge got into the reserve area. This may be a fluke but when it got down to about 75 miles left the reseve poped into my dic instead of check gags. If this gas treatment actually fixed the problem maybe this oxygenated gas is causing a surface corotion on the contacts preventing them from working. If this is so a simple bottle of gas treatment may be the fix. If it is its way better then letting the dealer mangle the car. Hope I am on to something here

The principle reason for my condition was that my wiring was corroding. The technician also told me that it was only a matter of time before I got stuck with the car for eventually the fuel pumps will shut down from lack of current. Although this may be a quick fix using the fuel conditioner, I would not, IMHO, rely on it for a permanent cure. This problem as far as I am concerned is a GM issue and that they should recall the vehicles involved for this is :bs :yesnod:
