Doing the front, there's one, possibly two, important steps left out of that procedure. The first is that you need to take the tension off the spring, in order to be able to turn the adjusting screw. You do that by placing a small piece of wood under the far end of the spring, and use a jack to raise the spring 1/8" or so. You need to be extremely careful not to scratch, dig, or gouge the spring.

Secondly, especially since the newest C-5s are now 5-6 years old, the adjusting screws may be pretty well stuck in the threaded inserts, and aren't likely to readily turn. The threaded inserts are molded into the spring, but too much force in trying to turn the adjusting screw, will break the insert loose, and you'll then be adjusting the ride height of your car with its BRAND NEW spring....(about $400)

There's quite a bit of height adjustability in the rear WITHOUT having to cut the bushings, and/or installing longer bolts. In fact, you shouldn't cut the bushings...if you can't go low enough by turning out the stock bolts, replace them with longer bolts.

Finally, I doubt that I've seen any two C-5s sitting at the same ride height...they're all over the place. Therefore, if you tell people you want to drop it an inch, three-quarters of an inch, etc, it doesn't mean all that much, because everybody's starting at a different point.

FWIW, I dropped my car just short of an inch, by using all the adjustment in front, and the stock bolts in the rear. I did, however, replace the rear bushings with polyurethane pieces, and the OE hex nut with a "ny-lock" nut. My car is F-45 equipped, so I couldn't "slam" it, but since I still need to get in and out of driveways, I'm content with its stance.

I installed Ebach lowering kit on my 04 , front is fine but rear is too low. Should nuts on bolts be tightened or loosened to raise back up ? Ride is very choppy on alot of Texas roads but very nice on smooth highway.

Thanks Dennis , I think I should have tried lowering on stock bolts first , longer ones nut is bottomed out and VERY low. Looks great but lost alot of comfort. Also went with Bilstein Sport shocks !

Put your stock bolts back in the rear, and just get a pair of "ny-lock" nuts, so you hold adjustment. One other tip....make sure that the car is level, side-to-side. Don't measure at the fenders, however. Measure from the center of the inner a-arm pivot bolts to the ground. Equalize that dimension side-to-side, and in order to keep the car "aero stable", the front needs to be a tad lower than the rear. This keep air flow going over, and pressing down on the hood, rather than going under the car, and making it "floaty".
