They've been intermittently not working for two years, but I could pull on the rubber accordian wire protector and they'd start working again. No more. I took the door panel off and expected to see something obvious like a cut wire or loose connection but I saw nothing wrong. The lights for the buttons don't come on either.
Pulling the door panel won't show you the harness connectors. They are stuffed into the door pilar. The connector pins or exposed wires will cause these issues.
Door pillar, like on the car side of the door hinge? I.e., sitting in the PS seat, looking at the rubber accordian, I should pull the left side off and dig in there for the connections?
If that doesn't fix your problem, swap the door control module to the other door and see if the problem travels or not. If it does, then you will need a new door control module. PM me, I have one.
I finally got back to this. I looked at the connectors, again and everything looks fine. I checked continuity across each connector also and they're all fine. I checked the four fuses having to do with the doors. I also switched the door control modules: the DS door works with the PS module, but the PS still doesn't work with the DS module. I checked the ground wire and it's good. The heavy gauge orange wire to the module has 12V. The fuse to the PS was blown out which made me happy because I thought I'd found the problem for cheap but that's not it.
I'm not sure what else to do.
