A mechanic once told me never get your wheels aligned unless your tires wear unevenly. The reason being that they are tightened at the factory and once they are loosened, they never get them as tight, so when you hit pot holes, etc. they will go out.
Used this advice on 3 cars and got excellant mileage from tires. One car went 165,000 miles without an alignment, always wore out tires evenly. It works for me !

Same here as I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 130,000 miles and got 101,000 on original tires and still never had an alignment and 20,000 on my C5 and no wear yet.

I would get the alignment. I've seen several C5s (mine included) with uneven tire wire on the inside edges of the front tires. I got mine aligned at the dealer when I bought new tires. I've heard others have good luck with the lifetime alignment deal from Firestone shops.
