Anyone using the SLP 2800 stall converter?
Following is the discription from their web site:
"Torque Converter, Lock-Up 1997-02 C-5 Corvette (2800)
SLP and Yank Converters have developed a High Stall, Performance, Lock-Up Torque Converter for all LS1 powered C5 Corvettes. This new torque converter is designed to improve off-the-line performance, while still retaining the original lock-up feature of the stock converter. Your car’s 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance times can be reduced by as much as 3 -to-4 tenths. Performance is achieved by raising the new converter’s stall speed approximately 1200 rpm over stock. SLP’s converters feature a custom billet front cover, high capacity stator, fully brazed pump fins, anti-ballooning plates, oversize roller clutch, high-capacity Torrington thrust bearings and are fully balanced assemblies. They are completely compatible with your car's stock PCM and require no modifications for installation. This converter is recommended for vehicles with mild to extensive modifications and 3:42 to 3:73 gears."
I was considering the Yank 2600 stealth, but this converter is about $100 less.
Anyone know anything about it? I think I may do it unless someone chimes in with valid negative comments.
