so i just installed a rebuilt trans into my vette.
i ran it in the air and topped off the fluid and things
seemed to be working good. when i went to test drive
the car it didnt really want to move. it seems to be
slipping. it takes like 3000 rpm to get it to go and it
doesnt feel like all the power is getting to the ground.
i do have a 3600 stall converter but i didnt drive like this before.
does anybody have any ideas about what i messed up on install?
thanks

Topped it off, huh? Follow the procedure in the service manual for fluid chk/fill.....you can't just top it off like a manual.
3600 torq converter did you think it was going to run like stock??
I would expect that you will feel "loose" for want of a better word.
Make sure that you follow the 150 mile rule and drive at different
speeds to break in the tranny and torq converter. Good luck.
i dont have a service manual but from what i read you just shift into all gears and get it hot, then top it off when running. is that correct?
i had the 3600 stall in before i replaced the trans. it didnt drive like stock but it sure drove better than it does now.
If you want advice, you really need to provide detail info, which you are not. Rebuilt trans, and topped it off while running......how much fluid did you add? If you don't have a procedure, how did you know how much fluid it should take?
