I noticed my steering is squeeking a bit when I turn the wheel. I saw the fix in the tech tips and want to fix this.
Where is the Lower Bearing (& which LB are they referring to)? I cannot tell from the picture. I have asked a few folks and nobody can tell me what or where they are talking about.
If you look under the hood, the lower nylon column bushing is incased in the big grey rubber grommet that the steering shaft goes through. You have 3 choices:
1)remove the steering shaft and pop out the grommet and lube the bushing with lithium grease.(dont rotate the wheel with the shaft removed)
2)replace the column bushing
3)if you are good at getting at tight places, spray lithium grease (nozzle extension) into the rubber grommet to lube the bushing.
