Tranny & diff problem
I own a c5 00 vette with a p1sc-1 procharger kit(6psi) and a ls2 engine. with a cam from wcc. I have ls6 intake with a 90mm snout and polish and ported tb, with a t56(m6 tranny with 3.42 gears). I am making 551RWHP on a mustng dyno. I went to the track and broke the main output shaft on the tranny and the diff. case. I fixed everything and have the vette running. I am in the process of buying a ECS transmission brace(which I did not have when this happened). A local guy offer a c5 Z06 complete diff with 3.42 gears and a C5 Z06 t56 tranny(m12). The tranny needs to be repaired. He says I wont shift to third everything for $900.00.
I have done lots of consulting and reading but have different opinions. The only thing everyone agrees is to install the ecs tranny brace. These are the suggestions:
1) Install the Z06 diff with 3.73 gears and upgrade my m6 t56 tranny.
2 Fixed the t56 M12 tranny and install it with the Z06 diff with the 3.42 gears.
3) Install a hardened output shaft and use the internals from a c6 z06 and install them in the c5 z06 diff case(they claim they fit)
what would you guys do? Any other suggestions?
The vette has Nittos extreme drag II radial tires(305-40-18).Would like to go to the track once in a while
