For the last few weeks my low oil pressure light comes on for about two seconds and the oil pressure drops to zero. Once I rev the engine it jumps right back up to 42 psi. It only sounds like it does it when the car has been driven over an hour or so. If I come to a light and it idles at 32 for a minute it does it again. I replaced the sensor about 6 mos ago. I checked the oil level and it was low half a court if that. Any thoughts???

You are a braver man than me.....considering you continue to drive it, not knowing what's going on.
I will try to pull the codes again. The last thing that came up was exhaust because of the supercharger. The light turns on and the pressure gauge drops. It looks like as soon as it drops below 20 it triggers the light. I am going to take it to A&A this week. I added a supercharger 2 mos ago and it has been a night mare. I have driven my car a total of two weeks if that. Keeps chewing up belts. I wish I would have left it stock... I am going to change the sensor and replace the oil and filter today. I wish I knew if it was the oil pump going out.
if a oil pump fails, its gone. there is no back and forth with it. and your motor would be toast. The sensor usually shows a massive spike if its bad, like 100 psi. chances are you have spun a bearing, or yoru lucky and have a faulty gauge. how does the car act when it drops? idle fine, or struggles to stay alive?
The car drives fine. The last time the oil pressured dropped it died. It feels like it only does it when the car has been driven for more then an hour.
I have had customers cars do what you describe and when I went to check the oil pump the pickup was not attached to the oil pump.
But replace oil filter first, make sure it did not cave in(you don;t use Fram do you?) and add a extra 1/2 qt of oil over the fill line to see if that helps. Not enouhg to make things worse but if a pickup issue may help.
Also does the super charger get its oil from the car or is it sealed?

Did A&A do the install? A faulty gauge is possible, but not probable.
I'm still not following with the "low oil pressure light". If a low oil pressure condition exists, you should see it indicated on the analog gauge, accompanied by a "check gauges" waring light, and a "low oil pressure" message, displayed on the DIC....and the IPC will chime. So I'm just trying to understand why you would have a low oil pressure condition, and no DIC message, and no mention of the "check gauges" warning light. Just making sure we are talking about oil pressure, and not oil level......or it's not a combo of both.
Rather than just change the sensor, I would use the schematics form the service manual, and do voltage and grounds checks on the sensor plug, while shaking the harness. If your SC has a self-contained oil system, you can tap into the forward galley plug, and install a mechanical gauge, to verify your pressure.
I wish A&A would have done the install. Mike at CMS can't figure out why it's chewing up belts. Since A&A made the kit I would imagine they would have been the best choice. They are 3 hours away but that is my only option at this point. The dic never gave me a low pressure at all. If I sat at a light for more then 2 mins I could see the pressure dropping. Once the pressure dropped to 20 the red light chimed in. If I held the break and pushed the gas the pressure came back up.
When I remove the oil filter where is the pick up? Should I be looking for a missing piece some where?
Its in the oil pan. Probable not the cause for a LS motor as its bolted on. So as long as you have not had the bottom end modded or messed with it should be ok. Just thinking out loud
But yea check the oil filter to make sure it did not cave in, again I doubt it but easy check. Also check oil level and when you drain stick a small magnet stick in the oil pan to check to see if anything is in there.

...and that's what is weird about this circumstance.... 20 psi is not low enough to give a warning. I must be loosing it, because for the life of me, I cannot remember a low oil pressure light........just a "check gauges", and message on the DIC.
I just picked the car up from CMS which is 45 miles away. The car drove perfect with no issues. I asked Ryne if it could be a bearing and he said no. You would be able to hear it chattering he said. I will replace the oil sensor drain the oil and put a new filter on. The blower is a sealed unit. I will keep every one posted. Thanks guys...
