I need a new drivers side window regularor and just wanted to check and see if anyone has bought and used the window regulators sold on ebay that go for $60.00. Are they OK to use or are they worthless?
Have no experience with that particular vendor but have quite a bit of eBay buying & selling experience. Looks like the vendor has 100% feedback on about 1200 items in the past year and it looks like most if not all that they are selling are windows regulators. The business is focused and it's not that easy to please 1200 eBay buyers without someone (over) reacting with a negative feedback, (like pulling out a six shooter in an old cowboy movie). Also looks like there are a lot of BMWs and Caddys, that can't be a cake walk to please that crowd too. I don't know what eBay's numbers really are (and I doubt they'll say) but from my own experience on eBay, only about a third to half of buyers leave positive feedback. The rest just don't for whatever reason, so their sales, if anything is higher than 1200 in the past year. But you can be sure that 100% of unhappy buyers leave negative feedback.
The 2 neutral feedback comments this month (with 205 positive) were 'not an exact match to original' and a 'didn't work'
The item is also covered by eBay's buyer protection program. They've got a 30 day exchange and you are only talking about $60.
For my 2 cents, can't speak to quality of product but it you don't want to buy new or from a salvage yard, they've got a very good ebay profile and you don't have a lot of risk.
(and no, I'm not the vendor)

If so looks ok to me. Motor alone is worth the 60. So for $80 shipped looks good to me. In fact just ordered one for the right side. Was thinking about doing a motor rebuild but for $80 thats worth it to me.
No popping noise for me. Just one day work next day no work.
Could be the cable is comign apart, window is loose from retainer, etc...
Take apart and see if its just something loose. If not get the full kit and replace all.
I bought one from him a few weeks ago. I saw that he had good ratings but it looks like I got the one bad one. Motor was weaker than my 11 y/o one and I'm not sure if the track was bent in shipping or what but it would rub bad on the inside door panel to the point where it started to pull the tint off yes I adjusted it all day long but no luck.
I ended up going to Gene and 10 minutes after his arrived my window was working as good as ever.
Now I tend to have crappy luck with this kind of stuff so you may have a much better experience as based on his ratings I got the one lemon.
My window was making a popping and grinding noise for a few weeks before it stopped working. Glad it broke in the up position .
Marlin; if you could keep us posted on the results of the repair using the regulator from ebay it would be much appreciated.
BigTattooMan; thanks for the info. It's just the kind of feedback I was looking for.
This forum is always the best , thanks again guys.
quicky update.
Got mine in and it ships in a smaller box so one peice was sticking through the box. Guess UPS had a nice time with it. But everything looks ok.
Not sure when I will get to put it in. Supposed to get 1" to 1' of snow in the next couple days and I hate cold weather on top of that.
Will update when installed.
