Lately my Z06 has developed a quirk that I would like to see eliminated.
Ready for this???
When I go to bed at night, I run around the house and turn off all the lights. Over the past month, when I turn out the lights in the garage, the car alarm goes off. I poopie you not, my car is afraid of the dark.
It doesn't happen every time, but it has happened about a dozen times over the past month. My car isn't even locked up in the garage so I have no idea what could be causing it. I do have the electocromatic mirrors, to my knowledge, that is the only light sensor on the car. I don't understand how turning off the lights in the garage could be setting off the sensor that isn't even attached to the security system.
I'm not sure about the vette, but on another car, if you turn on the headlights when the alarm is set - it will go off, they're all on the same circuit. If you have the twilight sentinel on - it could turn the headlights on, and hence, trip the alarm. :seeya
I'll take a guess and say your Key Fob is in the Garage or close by. Your alarm is set on Passive unlock so every time your key fob shakes within about 10feet(?) your car will unlock. To fix this, pull the passive switch on your key fob to the left to disable that feature. Just my guess
If you have a bad switch for the light it will work as a powerful radio transmitter in a wide frequency spectrum when turning the light on/off. The same goes for the ignition modules in long tube lights you might have in the ceiling(Please do not laugh, I have no idea what it's called in english :) ) It should not be able to interfere with any electronics in your car but you may have a bad grounding causing your car to be more sensitive.
If it's a bad switch or ignition module you should be able to hear the interference as noise in your FM/AM radio when turning the light on/off.
A low cost test would be to change your light switch to a new one and if you have long tube lights in the ceiling  put in new ignition modules. It can't be more than $10-15.

Passive lock/unlock was eliminated after 1999. 2000+ Corvettes do not have this feature. I also would suspect a faulty switch or security system activation transmitter.
