C5 A4 Transmission Cooler
Currently looking at the B&M Hi Tek cooler but was there any other cooler simular in price that would be better?
Going with a A&A Supercharger and really need to make sure I have the tranny last as long as possible.

Prepare to expect the stock tranny to fail. Third gear is weak in
our automatic's and it is only a matter of time with so much extra
power. Mine lasted 3 years but I was careful and even with a extra
tranny cooler you are destined for another tranny. Another weak
point is your driveshaft couplers, stock won't last long. And dont
forget your torq converter another weak point when hooked up
to big power. Just remember that your drive line is mated to a
350hp engine, you will have twice that much power after you
convert to a SC. Have fun, plan and prepare for the future.

Summit Racing has the B&M 70297 for $203.95. It's what I installed in my FI vette. I put mine under the driver's headlight in front of the brake duct. This leaves the area between the intercooler and the radiator open for the best cooling. Do a search, there are some write ups on how different guys did theirs. Be absolutely sure that the cooler is low enough to allow the headlight to raise and lower. Don't use any rubber line or hose bibs. Braided stainless and hardline connectors is the way to go. The tranny can pump over 200 psi when hot and pushed. Its a tight fit because this is a large cooler but it lowered my temps 30-40 degrees. You want them under 200 at all times. This is a good mod because you will want/need an RPM level 5 and higher stall later and this will serve you well. Good luck! Rod
