Can swap the passenger DMC with the drivers just to test the board?
I answered this question. Yes I can swap them. Now I know it's the Door Control Module and not the acuator. I would still like to know which relay in addition to the middle relay that I should replace.
I just did this component change for my non-locking driver's side door over Xmas. Worked like a charm. Here are some unmentioned tips:
Desoldering braid can be purchased from Radio Shack for $5. It is the only way to remove solder without more expensive equipment ( I work in the circuit card industry). Careful when doing this as you can easily bridge solder joints causing a short - which I did!
Reseal the coating with silicone sealer. The complete module is basically unsealed as stock and if the circuit card did not need to be coated it would not have been originally.
The top 2 connectors on the module are easy to remove. The bottom 2 suck. The second time I removed the CCA I just extracted it from the module after connectors 1 and 2 were removed.
You will probably break some of the fasteners on the door panels. There are male and female parts to this. Auto parts stores do not have these. You can pay over $5 for each male fastener on the world's most popular internet auction site or pay $25 for 15 male and female fasteners here:
