Default Has Anyone Had the 'Pull Key Wait 10 Sec' While Driving?

First: There are "NO" Codes being registered on the DIC - "NO" Check Engine Light either -

Buddy of mine just called me, 2004 C5 Z06, and he is getting the 'Pull Key Wait 10 Sec' while he is driving and it has happened in the past.

Now this time and we "DON"T" know if it is related, it started to run funny, he says like it's on 3 cylinders!

So if you did have it come 'ON' while driving, did it make your Vette run different?

And

What did you do or have to do?

How did you fix this problem?

I am not going to be able to go over there for a while with my HP Tuners -

But I do wonder if it is the VATS system

Let me know you thoughts on this one fella's

Thanks,Matt

Okay! The codes were not checked correctly - Either way there are no codes that would make it act like this

I believe his Meth Pump is getting voltage and it is squirting/bleeding into the Air Intake while driving and at idle -

Will have him do further testing to see - we are doing this over the phone

Thanks,Matt

I had this happen a couple of times on my 97. Had been driving it for a few miles and when I was waiting for a traffic light to change the pull key message popped up. I just pulled the key and restarted the engine and continued on my way. Had the car for 6 years and only saw this happen two or three times. I never had a column lock issue with the car. If I had tried to move the car before turning it off it may have run roughly.

Try cleaning the ignition key with alcohol... I had this problem on my 99 C5 and my 02 Z06.. The problem was me.. Cleaning ear wax out of my ears with the ignition key.. Nasty habit , with nasty outcome... Clean key and insert, then take out,,, repeat 10 times.. Ignition keys get cruded up with all kinds of dirt

Gonna do this, he also tried a different key.

The dealer did the CLB a few months back and the message has been happening since

I am gonna take a look at it today with him. I have a feeling it is not related to the CLB but who knows - it seems like, as Mr.Bill said, it's in LIMP Mode

I might just re-download his tune into the PCM, since I have it in my Laptop computer, HP Tuners

Thanks,Matt
