I'm running high 400's hp range to the wheels, have 4.10 gears and a DTE stage III Rear end. I am looking to fix my trans cause the Syncro's are going. Should I go to thegearbox.org and build it myself or go with a pre made? What's the better deal? I would like some opinions, thanks guys!
If you are in Indiana, and you don't use RPM........I will read your post when you are taking it to them later........Rodney, at RPM has the best vette knowledge on our cars driveline than anyone else! Great company to do business with! You go there and can see them do what they do, and fast!

If you are mechanically inclined and have the correct tools, you can do it yourself. You will need some special tools but if you're doing this one time, the cost of the tools will not offset the savings of doing it yourself. If you don't want to tackle it yourself, I would highly recommend RPM Transmissions. Great customer service, knowledgeable and most of all a supporting vendor of Vette forum.

The cool thing about RMP is that they are 80 miles from me,
Love the way it shifts. Very firm! At 1/2 throttle it chirps the tires when it shifts into 2nd. At full throttle when it shifts it triggers active handling. I do have a Yank SS3200 converter, RPM 3:42 gears and did have my tuner adjust the shift points and firmness after the install.
RPM 80 miles away = Go to RPM and get the Level V!

If your just doing a tranny swap and nothing else then no tune is necessary. You will, probably want to have the shift firmness set to your personal preference.

For a 6 speed? Not for the OP. Maybe Blitzkrieg.
