I'm running high 400's hp range to the wheels, have 4.10 gears and a DTE stage III Rear end. I am looking to fix my trans cause the Syncro's are going. Should I go to thegearbox.org and build it myself or go with a pre made? What's the better deal? I would like some opinions, thanks guys!

if you're up to it, build it yourself. If not, call the guys at RPM.

I bought all the good parts from the gearbox and had my local friend do the rebuild for me. Saved a ton of money and it's been flawlwss ever since.

Is RPM the best A4 trans for 600rwhp. Is there anyone else that builds a great trans?

I have an RPM IV A4, which is rated for 500 RWHP and very satisfied. I believe DTE is also considered a reputable transmission builder.

I'm thinking of the level V, just bought an A&A kit and hoping to hit 600hp. How do you like the way it shifts, is it nice and hard under WOT?

The cool thing about RMP is that they are 80 miles from me,

If you are mechanically inclined and have the correct tools, you can do it yourself. You will need some special tools but if you're doing this one time, the cost of the tools will not offset the savings of doing it yourself. If you don't want to tackle it yourself, I would highly recommend RPM Transmissions. Great customer service, knowledgeable and most of all a supporting vendor of Vette forum.

I'll say it again. RPM. Don't waste your time or money elsewhere.

Love the way it shifts. Very firm! At 1/2 throttle it chirps the tires when it shifts into 2nd. At full throttle when it shifts it triggers active handling. I do have a Yank SS3200 converter, RPM 3:42 gears and did have my tuner adjust the shift points and firmness after the install.

RPM 80 miles away = Go to RPM and get the Level V!

If your just doing a tranny swap and nothing else then no tune is necessary. You will, probably want to have the shift firmness set to your personal preference.

For a 6 speed? Not for the OP. Maybe Blitzkrieg.

Btw. ditto on RPM!

RPM Level V made my Z06 fun to drive again. Haven't missed a shift or popped out of gear since the upgrade!

Yes not necessary on a MN6 for the OP, Correct on Blitzkrieg.

Sorry for contributing to a hijack. Thought I was responding to the OP.
