I asked a specific question, "Is your oil pressure normal?". If the answer to this question is "Yes" then obviously the rest of my post can be ignored. If the answer is "No" then it should be looked into.
Thanks everyone for the help so far. I'm about to head home and can get under the hood to figure this out.
Question, am I ok to start the car up again and let it idle to try to pinpoint the noise for just a minute or two? I really don't want to do any additional damage...
I don't see how a MAP issue could cause "clicking" noises. Before going crazy, and assuming the worst, I'd look for a plug wire shorting against a metal part on the engine, especially if the car was idling when it first appeared. The ignition arcing makes a sound that could be described as "clicking"...
I'm thinking the noise is valve train noise. It's hard to pinpoint where the noise is coming from with the engine running, and the exhaust rumbling, and the fan belt turning.
Any loud clicking, tapping, knocking and etc...do not start up the engine till you've repaired the issue. Either have it towed to the place of your choice or pull the valve covers to look at the springs.
Should get it towed out to EnglandGreen either this week or next.
There are a lot of people on the north side of Houston. Have someone that knows about Vettes stop by and look at it. I would do that before I spent the money on a tow bill.

Geico emergency roadside service took car of half the tow bill. It was a broken valve spring...
Wow! That really sucks, as I use to own this car. I would be certain it had upgraded springs in it with the cam that was installed. Let us know what springs it had in it.
